Animal Assisted Therapy |

All Flame Point Cat kittens receive specialized Animal Assisted Therapy Training to be gentle and social that sets them apart from most other cat breeders. Some some examples of how a person who struggles with speech or vision will benefit from my training are that all kittens come to hand signals and to respond to certain sounds, such as a rattle. They are familiar with wheelchairs and other medical devices. The gentle and social disposition of all kittens from Flame Point Cat is guaranteed!

Trained for Clients with Special Needs
As a Pet Therapy Consultant, together we can determine which behaviors you are interested in and how the selected feline can help your clients reach their therapeutic goals using Animal Assisted Therapy. I work with Therapists, Doctors and other Health Care providers to achieve your goals pooling my knowledge of feline behavior and how to enhance the client bonding with a kitten or cat to support the medical and psychological professional goals. I honor all HIPPA privacy agreements and do additional research to understand as much information about the individual's needs as necessary.
If it is in the best interest of the client, I am willing to come to their home or doctor's office so we can learn what we should teach the kitten together. I am willing to return to help reinforce the behavior. Also, I prepare information that explains the special training that directly involves the child or new companion owner.
Less formal Cat Therapy is also done here at Flame Point Cat. Kittens travel from place to place for informal visits to cheer people up. Your kittens will be used to traveling and being handled by different people. This cat therapy helps your kitten adjust to your family members and the journey they will take to arrive safely to your home. |

Details about an individual client are kept confidential. Some clients sign releases to give me permission to discuss some general information, such as in the November 2007 Cat Fancy Magazine Article "Is Your Cat a Therapy Pet?"
